What I learned and going to learn

I would like to learn more on how to clean up the Environment. Cleaning out the worm bins was very exciting to do. Learning how worms can help the Environment is cool. Learning about how a atom works is very cool.

When you learn about something in science class, try to connect it with something you already know. So how are the worm bins and atoms related?

Our Goals...

Focus 1: Reduce the amount of solid waste going into the landfill
-Food waste will be processed (composted) mechanically and naturally with the aid of worms
-Paper waste will be used in the vermicomposting process and in large scale composting
-Recyclable materials such as aluminum, glass, and tin will be collected and transported to recycling centers

Focus 2: Provide Environmental education with hands-on learning systems
-maintain a 30x40 greenhouse; emphasize sustainability in the form of reduction, reuse, and recycling organic material
-maintain an adjacent garden; emphasize the use of organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc.
- produce high quality produce that can be distributed community wide.

Focus 3: Provide students with practical entrepreneurship opportunities
-form an E-business that produces, packages, and ships merchandise from the projects (fertilizer, worms, produce)
-maintain and update business website
-manage accounts receivable/payable
